Restaurant opening: "Le Balcon" at the Philharmonie de Paris
Since September 3rd, the Philharmonie of Paris offers a whole new "concert" - one that tickles your taste buds: the brand new restaurant "Le Balcon".
The name fits the establishment perfectly since it's situated on the 6th floor of the Philharmonie de Paris, a majestic place for music and culture which itself was only opened to the public in 2015 (featuring concert halls, expositions and a museum).
Cuisine for hungry visitors with more or less time
Hungry visitors can choose from two options head chef Karil Lopez (formerly head chef of the Parisian restaurant Le Cristal de Sel), well-known for his "bistrot-cuisine", proposes - depending on how much time they want to spare for their meal.
For those with little time, the menu includes platters of sausages and cold meat, fresh salads or creative tapas - ideal for visitors who long for a quick spoil before or after a concert.
Visitors who have more time to spare take delight in the bistrot-inspired menu which is focussing on 4 seasonal ingredients carefully selected by chef Lopez.
The interior of the restaurant also caters to the eyes of the visitors, as the meals are prepared live in front of the customers. Actually, the show cooking happens on the "balcon" (balcony), a kitchen with glass fronts that allow spectators to watch the culinary "orchestra" perform around a majestic counter.
"Le Balcon" can be considered a contemporary, informal and relaxed bistrot. It was designed by Frédéric Druot who managed to blend rough and elegant materials perfectly together in order to create a unique atmosphere that matches well with a top-notch cuisine.
Open only for dinner
The restaurant is open from 6PM and seats 150 customers inside the building plus 30 more on the panoramic terrace offering a magnificent view of Paris.
