Le Lieu du Design presents an exhibition dedicated to design and tourism in Paris and the Ile-de-France region: Lost in Paris. Maurizio Galante and Tal Lancman, multi-faceted designers and Parisians by adoption, have responded enthusiastically to this challenge. Through an offbeat and original concept, they offer a personal, current, and relevant vision of Paris, instant and unexpected.

Every stay in Ile-de-France must be a unique experience for the visitor, a new “first time”. This is precisely the challenge for Maurizio Galante and Tal Lancman. For this exhibition, they propose “design experiences”, bringing to life extraordinary moments as souvenirs that will be etched onto the public’s memory.

The exhibition invites visitors to take a fresh look at Paris and its region. Displayed all around the Paris region, certain projects will reveal places off the beaten track, reinvented in favour of new tourism practices. TakeYour Time, a series of chairs conceived by the designers, positioned inpairs in different sites in and around Paris, which invite contemplation and of unusual landscape in an unknown Paris - and Moment Souvenir, a photo-booth in the form of a rickshaw which will issue portrait stamps to tourists with actual monuments photographed in the background.

All the projects will demonstrate the ability of design to generate emotion and re-enchant the everyday. The process and work of Maurizio Galante and Tal Lancman illustrate how the designers, through their transversal approach, creativity, and attention to usage, have a major role to play in developing tourist offerings and reinforcing the attractiveness and influence of the Ile-de-France region.
