The Fête de la Gastronomie, French Cuisine Festival fr

Since 2011, France has annually celebrated its gastronomy with passion and style. This year will be no exception!

The last weekend of summer will be marked this year by the 5th annual Fête de la Gastronomie, a country-wide celebration of French cuisine and its listing on UNESCO's world heritage list. Each edition of the festival and its events features a new central theme.

Over 2000 events were scheduled last year at Fête de la Gastronomie, with a similar number planned for this year as well. Join us on the September 23rd through the 25th for festivities held all throughout the country, where locals and fellow travellers alike come together to truly enjoy the wonders of French gastronomy.

In honor of this delicious festival, chefs and restaurants will create special menus for the public to taste. You can exchange recipes and ideas with fellow food-lovers, and discuss and discover new ways to approach cooking.  You may even get tips from the expert chefs themselves! In France a good dish is always accompanied by a great wine, so don't miss the opportunity learn more about the art of pairing. It may be a difficult skill in itself, but the chefs and restaurateurs will be more than excited to share their opinions to ensure you get the most out of every bite...or sip!

Pencil it into your planner and be sure to bring your family and friends along to join in and celebrate the rich diversity of French gastronomy.

Bon appétit !
